How long have you been in business?

The Senior Helpers office in Greenwood, Indiana has been in business for 7 years. We’ve grown primarily by word of mouth and referrals, starting with our first client seven years ago to 120 active clients today!

What positions are you recruiting for now?

We are always looking for caregivers with CNA,HHA,PCA or STNA certifications as well as Companion Caregivers with little or no experience.

How many caregivers do you hire each month?

Because our client base continues to grow rapidly, we are pleased to be continually hiring!

What’s your on-boarding process for a new employee?

Our onboarding process consists of paid orientation as well as ongoing training on procedures, standards of care, caregiving techniques and specialized Alzheimer’s training.

During an interview, what’s most important for you to see/hear from a caregiver?

The most important thing we look for in a caregiver during the interview is compassion. Skills can be learned. Having a heart for seniors is a gift. The best caregivers neither need nor want halos.

Tell us about the best interview you’ve conducted with a caregiver and why it was the best.

The best interview conducted is one where the candidate is describing a memorable experience they had with a client and both the candidate and the interviewer are brought to tears. Caregiving is about caring and giving.

Anything else you’d like to share with prospective employees?

We love having the opportunity to bring new people into our family of caregivers. Just yesterday a candidate walked into our office wanting to apply for a position here because she had met and spoken with another of our caregivers who told her how much she loved working for this office.
