The National Council on Aging reports that 35 percent of all Americans 65 and older fall each year. In fact, falls are the major cause of injuries in older people. Sadly, more than half of all accidental deaths among the elderly are due to falls. Fall prevention is a vital component of well-being and longevity. This module on lifting and mobility assistance will give you power and knowledge to learn best practices and reduce both your clients and your own risk of falling and injury. This CEU built for caregivers, certified nursing assistants, and home health aides is reccommended for everyone annually.
CEU is short for "continuing education unit." Most aides in the U.S. are required to have at least 12 CEU inservice hours per year in order to renew their registration.
Simply select a Caregiver, HHA, or CNA CEU course that you'd like to learn more about. Complete the interactive module to learn the material - it's free to learn. Your certificate will even get reviewed and signed by a Nevvon RN! Additionally, if you're looking for a job and have completed a job application on myCNAjobs, the course will automatically get added to your caregiver resume so you can bring it along to interviews.
