Hospice & palliative care are based on a philosophy of care that aims to relieve suffering and improve the quality of life for persons who are living with, or dying from, advanced illness. The purpose of hospice care is to provide comfort and dignity for the person living with the illness as well as his or her family. An important objective of this hospice care CE for home health aides and certified nursing assistants is to better understand how to care for patients and the families you'll serve during your care job. Learn how hospice care addresses the psychological, social, cultural, emotional and spiritual needs of each individual and family. Caregivers are exposed to clients with a variety of medical conditions, socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds. The goal of this module is to understand the meaning of hospice care and how to meet the basic needs of clients at the end stages of their life.

CEU is short for "continuing education unit." Most aides in the U.S. are required to have at least 12 CEU inservice hours per year in order to renew their registration.
Simply select a Caregiver, HHA, or CNA CEU course that you'd like to learn more about. Complete the interactive module to learn the material - it's free to learn. At the end of each module, you will be invited to take a quiz. After successfully completing the quiz, you can choose to purchase or send to an employer for purchase a CE certificate to use towards your state credits. Your certificate will even get reviewed and signed by a Nevvon RN! Additionally, if you're looking for a job and have completed a job application on myCNAjobs, the course will automatically get added to your caregiver resume so you can bring it along to interviews. If you are not in need of CE credit at this time, you may still complete as many modules as you like for free. As a healthcare worker, it's always great to learn something new! After course completion (regardless if you choose to pay for the CE), your completion credit will get added to your myCNAjobs resume.

As always, it's advised to check with your state or employer to ensure the training meets your state requirements.
You can choose to go through the e-learning modules as slowly or quickly as you'd like. Typically, each CEU course takes approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour and 15 minutes to complete, including the interactive quiz.
No worries! You can go through the learning modules as many times as you'd like and your quiz will be available to retake at your convenience when logging into your myCNAjobs account.
After completing each course you will be directed to purchase or send to your employer for purchase a copy of the CE certificate. It's free to learn. For a low fee, you can have the Nevonn RN review your course and sign it for CE credit. After course completion (regardless if you choose to pay for the CE), your completion credit will get added to your myCNAjobs resume!
