First Step Healthcare was started from a desire to teach the student nurse assistant (NA) to be the best Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) he/she can be. The CNA is the eyes and ears of the nurse. Without competent, knowledgeable CNAs, the nurse cannot effectively do his/her job. Our mission is to train the student to be a very productive and important member of the healthcare team. Our class sizes are small so that each student can receive personalized training. Our focus is on teaching the student everything that he/she needs, to take that First Step towards a healthcare career.
Our course for CNA is 10 days for a total of 78 hours and our CNA/HHA training course is 12 days for a total of 94 hours. 38 hours of classroom lecture/book/workbook, 24 hours skills learning, 16 hours of HHA training, 16 hours of clinical site hands-on experience with residents at a Long Term Care Facility (LTC).
