I like taking care of people, and in this respect, I need to be needed. I've been working in a nursing home for over a year now, and it is very rewarding to me to have this role as a full-time caregiver.
I'm very good at my job. I got into this profession to feel needed after my children moved out into the world and my husband left. With that said, I am more mature than many other applicants, probably in their 20's or so, which makes me a more secure choice. I am very active, and therefore in fairly good shape, so I can lift a lot of weight and have a lot of stamina for longer shifts. I am not opposed to working 12 hour shifts, in fact, I prefer them. I am very adaptable. For the last few months, I have worked weekend nights with a few days added in the week, which shows I am willing to work any shift. Also, I have experience with Alzheimer's and behavioral issues. Since I have 4 children and a grandchild, I have much childcare experience, as well.
