One of the most rewarding experiences I've had was a year I spent as a live-in caregiver for an elderly lady while I was in college. As I prepare to relocate to the Eden/Huntsville area, I am looking for an opportunity to care-giving after 18 years in a different field. I am a mom and have also been a nanny during summer breaks from college, and I miss the deep connections that such work provides.
My the most important qualities I have to offer are patience, loving and nurturing nature, ability to learn any task quickly, and my ability to connect and create meaningful connections. My prior experience as live-in care means that I have experience with some of the more challenging aspects that go along with all of the rewards, including personal care and grooming (including changing adult diapers) and the frustration of dementia patients. In addition, I am dependable and trustworthy, and not afraid to work hard.
