Job Requirements

Provides assistance with patient care activities as directed on the patient home health aide care plan and under the direction of the registered licensed professional staff. Independently assists the patient with bathing, dressing, home exercise plan, meal preparation/cooking and/or feeding and light homemaking and laundry assistance for patient in the home. Full-time and part time positions available.

Requirements:

1.Completion of a New York State recognized training program.

2.New York State Certified Home Health Aide Certification.

3.Has access to a reliable means of transportation. Those who hold a valid driver’s license and drive to cases must maintain their license in good standing.

4.Must be able to function in a practice environment with minimal direct supervision, accepting personal responsibility for maintaining a positive relationship with the agency’s client and family. Must be willing to accept direction from his/her supervisor.

5.Must accept responsibility for maintaining skills, learning and adhering to agency’s policies and procedures on an on-going basis.

6.Must be able to meet the physical demands of caregiving at full duty. Ambulating, transferring, lifting, turning and repositioning of clients. Occasional to frequent heavy transfer of 100-200 pounds with the use of a Hoyer Lift or as a 2-person transfer. Frequent transfer of 50-100 pounds when repositioning clients. Frequent bending to the level of a standard bed to perform such procedures such as range of motion exercises and bed baths.

7.Frequent entering and exiting of automobile with a driving average of 25 miles per day.
