Job Description

We are currently seeking professional, caring, and friendly homemakers and personal care providers in Columbus and all surrounding cities (Powell,  Westerville, Hilliard, Dublin, Pickerington, Reynoldsburg, Lancaster). We can offer immediate openings within a variety of shifts, flexible hours, and can accommodate employees seeking full-time, part-time and/or PRN hours. Job responsibilities include but are not limited to: companion services, light housekeeping tasks, transportation, and personal care assistance (bathing, dressing, incontinence care, oral hygiene assistance, etc.).
Employees must be dependable HHA’s and STNA’s able to meet the following qualifications:
  • Passing a background and urinalysis test
  • CPR certification
  • Valid auto insurance
  • Up to date negative TB test or chest x-ray
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Reliable transportation
  • Ability to adapt to a variety of environments

Job Requirements

Responsibilities of the home health aide include, but are not limited to the following:
  1. Provide client care as directed by the Director of Nursing or registered nurse supervisor.
  2. Provide personal care:
    1. Bathing
    2. Grooming, including oral care
    3. Assist the client with dressing and undressing
    4. Assist the client with toileting activities
    5. Assist in feeding the client, if necessary
    6. Feed clients who are unable to feed themselves
    7. Take and record vital signs (temperature, pulse, respirations and blood pressure)
    8. Measure and record height and weight, if necessary.
    9. Support good skin care to prevent skin breakdown  (i.e. turn and reposition client, actively encourage movement)
    10. Assist client with active and passive range of motions as defined by the plan of care
    11. Provide client with help walking and transferring
    12. Observe client’s physical, mental and emotional conditions.
      1. Report any change to the Director of Nursing or nursing supervisor
      2. Document observed changes
    13. Measure and document intake and output, if necessary
    14. Assist client in the self-administration of medication (medication reminder)
    15. Perform light housekeeping
    16. Perform meal preparation and clean up
    17. Change bed linens and make up the client’s bed
    18. Maintain an orderly client environment.
  3. Follow principles of infection control and Universal Precautions
  4. Identifies and participates in performance improvement activities.
  5. Provide transport to doctor appointments, outside activities and shopping
  6. Participates in client teaching according to the client’s plan of care
  7. Assist in providing a safe environment and promote quality patient care through adherence to established policies, procedures and standards.
