Shameka L. recently applied and was awarded one of many scholarships for Certified Nursing Assistants at myCNAjobs.
Shameka applied the week of Christmas outlining her desire to become a CNA to better care for her disabled older brother while also building a career in nursing, explaining the world needs better caregivers in the homes of our aging population.
"It's a New Year and we couldn't agree more with Shameka," adds Brandi Kurtyka, CEO of myCNAjobs.com.
"We're excited to send hundreds of caregivers like Shameka through CNA and HHA programs in 2016. There's a clear shortage of caregivers and little awareness of caregiving as a profession. We're committed to playing a small role to change this and we're thrilled Shameka is leading the charge," adds Kurtyka.
Shameka will attend Training Solutions in Virginia. myCNAjobs is covering the full cost of her tuition and scrubs, required for the program. "We're thrilled to partner with myCNAjobs and excited to announce that we're extending an additional CNA scholarship for our program in March through the myCNAjobs scholarship fund," says Tangy Smith, Director at Training Solutions.
"Post graduation, we look forward to connecting Shameka to local CNA job opportunities so she can continue her journey to make a difference in the world through quality care" adds Kurtyka.
